Faye Wong's thirteenth major album may not have been a major sales success, but it continues to be called a classic by her loyal fans. Irritated features ten tracks, most of which were composed by Faye herself. Two of the songs, "Split Up" (Track 4) and "Spoil Sport" (Track 8), were written and arranged especially for the album by the Scottish pop band Cocteau Twins, whose songs were earlier covered by Faye. The title song, "Irritated" (Track 2) is another one of Faye's trademark songs.
